Two games down in the FBD league and how has JOM been shuffling the lineout? Our hurlers lose out to DCU and Conor Mortimer has a bloody spat with one Mark Vaughan in O'Byrne Cup ...
After losing the first match in the FBD Connacht league, to NUIG, Mayo bounced back with a big win against Sligo IT - a 19 point win but put in context as the same opposition took a 17 point pasting from Roscommon last week. It kinda suggests that next weekends fixture in Ballyhaunis will tell us a bit more about Mayo (and Roscommon) than either of the games to date.
Match report - Irish Independent and as ever the match blog(s) from the reowned WJ (and links!)
For those interested in how the linouts compared in the 2 matches so far here it is (as best we can establish)

Mayo lost by 7 points to DCU in the Kehoe Cup but bear in mind Mayo were missing some key players - Irish Independent Report here
JOM is working a panel without the services of quite a few players but some are showcasing their talents elsewhere.
Mortimer scores 6 and takes a hit !!
The Mayo v DCU hurling match in DCU Ballymun was followed by an O'Byrne Cup match between DCU and DIT and looks like Conor Mortimer had the shooting boots scoring 6 of DCU's 11 points ... and he managed to get into a spat with Mark Vaughan for good measure ending up with a broken nose .. more !!! Mort also scored 7 from play against Laois the previous week.
Another Mayo forward making his mark (pun intended!) this weekend is Mark Ronaldson with UCD - more
