17 March 2010 - Mayo's 4 year reign as kingpins of Connacht U21 football came to an end in Hyde Park as Roscommon edged us out with a late injury time point. Mayo might have been slight favourites but on the day Roscommon probably displayed more motivation and determination ... and deserved the win...

RESULT - Mayo 1-11 : Roscommon 2-09 - 1 point win for Ros. Ros also kicked 11 wides v 7 for Mayo. Hard to lose by 1 in a game that swung both ways throughout but when all analysis is done we probably can't complain as our advantage against a 14 man Ros wasn't capitalised on. Roscommon, on balance, probably showed the desire and determination a bit more than Mayo today and deserved the win.
That's it unfortunately - end of the road for Mayo U21 this year.
