Club Mayo Event in Croke Park on 20 March 2011

Club Mayo Dublin organised and hosted a pre match lunch for the Dublin v Mayo League match on March 20th. The lunch was held in Croke Park Premium Level hospitality and we were honoured with the highly respected Peter Canavan as our guest speaker. The event was an enjoyable precursor to the amazing match that was to follow and gave Mayo supporters an opportunity to meet, mingle and enjoy the top class facilities of Croke Park on match day.

It was an early start but that didn't deter our loyal supporters and we had a great turnout on the day with a great mix of supporters who had travelled from Mayo and Galway and other parts of the country as well as the rest of us from 'the big smoke' who only had a few miles to travel. Much appreciated and our thanks to all who supported.

Club Mayo Dublin chairman, Noel Howley, made sure things went to plan and welcomed everyone to the lunch, including representatives from Mayo County Board - Chairman Paddy McNicholas, Secretary Sean Feeney and PRO Aiden McLoughlin.
Peter Canavan, Tyrone's two times All Ireland Winner and winning captain in 2003, gave a suitably entertaining and informative speech with a few insights from Tyrone and afterwards was more than obliging in shaking hands, signing autographs and taking pictures. A popular guest without doubt!
Finally, Paddy McNicholas acknowledged the efforts on the day and the work of Club Mayo Dublin before making a special presentation to a legend of Mayo GAA who was in attendance, Paddy Muldoon.

It was only the start of what turned out be an 'interesting' match-day in Croke Park - even if the final match result wasn't in our favour.
