Funding Mayo Sport

Club Mayo Sports was established in June 2012 with the aim of using existing networks both in Ireland and abroad to participate in various fundraising activities with a view to disbursing the funds raised to sports teams, individuals and in support of specific events. Any Mayo sports team, organisation or individual sports star can apply for funding and each application is considered on its merits and in relation to funds available at the time.
Unfortunately it has not been possible to accommodate the very many requests received to date but we have been pleased that through the generous support that we have received that we have are able to provide financial assistance, so far, to the following:
1.     Team Castlebar 2012 (a collaboration between Castlebar Mitchels LGFC and Castlebar United FC);
2.     Jerry Towey, Kilmovee (paracyclist)
3. Sean Hynes, Foxford (motor sport)
4.     Cáirde Mhaigheo
5.     Mayo Ladies GAA Board
6. Ballina Braves Youth Basketball Club
7.     Claremorris Rugby Club.

On Thursday night next Club Mayo Sports is holding it's fundraising draw and we have been inundated with enquiries about whether we are holding any events in the run-up to the All Ireland Final. We no longer exist as ClubMayo for GAA and we are not party to any of the official match functions or events. Just to make that clear. However, we are all still 'Mayo' and GAA is part of us all and we are happy to say we will be running a pre-match 'Panel Night' on the night of the draw. We have David Brady, Kevin O'Neill, Tommy Carr, Paul Earley and a few more great GAA names who will be fielding questions and giving their insights and views on the game ..... It's open to all so come along...

Club Mayo Sports

Welcome to Club Mayo Sports. Despite the name we are not a 'club' but a fundraising entity for the benefit of a wide range of sports in Mayo. Club Mayo has existed for a number of years and over that time has built up a wide network of people who take pride in the sucesses of the county on the national stage and in addition to simply supporting they are prepared to contribute financially. At the same time we are aware of many sporting organisations and individuals in Mayo who could really benefit from some financial support at times. The aim of Club Mayo Sports is to bridge the gap between the supporters and the sporting stars of the county .....

Club Mayo Cairde

On 5 Feb 2008 Club Mayo Dublin was setup at a well attended meeting in Harrington St. It had the support of not just fans but the players, team managers and the County Board. Four years later, almost to the day, the club has had its status terminated by the County Board to make way for a new supporters body, Cairde Mhaigheo. As a supporters club we fully understand the benefits of Cairde Mhaigheo for Mayo GAA and, without reservation, welcome the initiative. We feel it is imperitive that we make that absolutely clear.
However, from the outset we were concerned at (1) the overall approach to managing how the existing supporters clubs would be subsumed into the larger club and (2) how funds raised by the new club would be used.......

Mayo will be battling it out in Div 2B against Roscommon, Armagh, Meath, Kildare and London.
It's only end of Jan but our senior footballers have already bagged 1 piece of silverware in 2012. On Friday night last they defeated NUIG in the FBD Home Final in McHale Park. It was a realtively easy win, if truth be told, on a final scoreline of 0-14 to 0-04 but just as important as the win was the winning start to 2012 with Mayo emerging with 4 wins in their first 4 competitive matches and the only team to survive the FBD League with a 100% record .....
