Keith Higgins has been appointed captain for 2012 and in preparation for the league they played Sligo last weekend in a challenge game ... and it was success for Mayo on a scoreline 1-16 to 0-11.

A game that Mayo showed all the signs, in the first half, as one that mayo would win easily. But in the end we needed to late points from Barry Moran and Alan Dillon to stumble across the line .....
FBD Home Final
Mayo v NUIG
McHale Park @ 7.30 on Friday night
Result : Mayo 0-14: Roscommon 1-09
Mayo just about get across the line in the end. Having being 7-2 up at half time it looked like Mayo had this game under control. But Roscommon came back strong in second half and got to level the score at 0-12 to 1-09 before Mayo sealed it with two late scores.
Mayo are only team in FBD with 100% record - see table below - as NUIG were surprisingly beaten by IT Sligo last night.
